People with vision were persuaded to experience lack of sight as part of World Sight Day observation in Berhampur in Odisha on Thursday.

Ecos Eye Hospital of the city and Rotary Club of Berhampur East had organized this unique observation at Khallikote stadium early on Thursday morning. The aim was to make people understand importance of vision and care of our eyes. Physicians and dignitaries of the city along with hundreds of morning walkers took part in it.

Participants of this World Sight Day observation were requested to get blind-folded and walk around the stadium for few minutes to realize how precious our eye sight is, said Dr. Mihir Bal of Ecos Eye Hospital. According to a volunteer Srinivas Rajanna, this experience of getting blind folded in public has enhanced his concern for the people living without vision. “I am thinking of pledging for donation of my eyes after this experience”, he said.
