Pakistan militant killed in J&K

Security forces have encircled a group of militants in North Kashmir’s Handwara, triggering a gunfight.

A Lashkar-e-Taiba militant was killed in a counter-militancy operation in Handwara, north Kashmir, on Thursday.

A police spokesman said security forces cordoned off Batapora village after receiving ‘credible leads’ on the presence of militants. . “During searches, a militant opened fire and the search party retaliated. In the encounter that followed, the militant, who was identified as a Pakistani national, was killed,” said the police.
