Dy SP injured in encounter with Maoists in Jharkhand

A police officer was injured in an encounter between security forces and Maoists near Bundu in Ranchi district, police said today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, A J Tigga, was injured when he was leading the force in the gunbattle against the rebels between Kamdara and Rahe villages, about 70 km from here, last night, they said.

He was admitted to Abdur Razzak Ansari Weavers Memorial Hospital (Apollo group), officials said.

“He is in ICU now. He is out of danger,” Public Relations Officer of the hospital Javed Akhtar said.
