Curfew in violence-hit Sridungargarh was on Wednesday relaxed for the day with normalcy returning to the region, even as Internet connectivity has still not resumed in the city.
Curfew during night time will continue and the situation will be assessed on Thursdaymorning, Superintendent of Police, Bikaner, Santosh C. Chalke told PTI on telephone.
Normalcy revived in the city as people were busy buying their essential commodities during the relaxation period from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., he said.
No untoward incident occurred during the period, the SP said, adding the additional forces will continue as a precautionary measure.
However, the Internet connectivity has still not resumed in city, SP said.
The trouble started on October 23 when a religious procession was crossing a shrine belonging another community in village Gusaisar. The people in the shrine asked the other group to stop the music, but the latter did not relent which led to a confrontation, the SP said.
In a statement in Jaipur, PCC president Sachin Pilot alleged that the communal incidents in Sridungargarh, Cheepabarod, Bhilwara and Rajsamand in recent week was due to
