The Bharatiya Janata Party has come heavily on the allegations of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on the non-assistance of Central aid and grants to the State despite of a manifold increase in the financial endowments by the Centre. The octogenarian Chief Minister who is facing serious charges of corruption and also has an FIR registered against him by the CBI is trying to divert the peoples’ attention by blaming the Centre now for releasing enough funds to the State, said BJP women wing president Ritu Sethi. He is threatening the senior BJP leaders including the former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and his family members with the State police raids as a revenge and in answer to the CBI raids on his properties in Shimla and other places, she said.
Demanding Chief Minister’s resignation on moral grounds at least, the BJP Mahila Morcha president claimed that she would lead her organisation to reach each and every polling booth in the State and expose the government that is being led by a person with such a questioning integrity.
The incumbent Union government has increased the grant proposals to Rs. 80,000 crores in the 14{+t}{+h}Finance Commission and the now the State is getting the same amount of money in one year what it was getting in five years earlier during the previous UPA regime, said a party spokesman here on Saturday.
Meanwhile the former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has also called ‘non-assistance by Centre’ charges of Mr. Virbhadra Singh as ridiculous and based on hostile emotions rather than facts. He said Mr. Modi has recently announced an extra assistance of Rs. 4000 crore to the hill State as compared to the previous Congress led UPA government.
