CM directive to hasten probe

May 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Patna:

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed the police chief and the Home Secretary to monitor the incident and take necessary steps to get the kidnapped doctor couple released.

“A six-member special investigation team has been formed to crack the case. Though, no ransom call has been received yet but we have registered a case of suspected kidnapping in the case”, P. Kannan, Gaya, Superintendent of police, told The Hindu . Along with the abducted persons the luxurious car they were travelling in too has gone traceless.

“The kidnapping of the Gaya-based doctor and his wife reminds us the previous RJD regime when altogether 38 doctors of the State were abducted for ransom and many others had fled away from here out of fear,” a young Patna-based doctor said.
