A team of Central Bureau of Investigation officials on May 26 served notice to former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, asking him to report to the CBI’s Salt Lake office on May 27.

The CBI team landed at Mr. Kumar’s south Kolkata residence, and reportedly searched the premises in order to take him into custody. Upon not finding him at his residence, the CBI officials went to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police (South), which is adjacent to Mr. Kumar’s residence.

The CBI then served the notice. They had earlier issued a Look Out Circular against Mr. Kumar.

A similar search was conducted at Mr. Kumar's residence about three months ago as the CBI initiated a process to take him into custody.
