Youth arrested for threatening to blow up Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

A police officer said the name of the arrested youth was not found in any criminal case or unlawful activities

Twenty-year-old Ankit Kumar Mishra, who hails from Vaishali district of Bihar, was arrested from Surat in Gujarat, for allegedly threatening to blow up Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has been arrested on the day when Bihar is celebrating its 111 years of existence as Bihar Diwas.

Mr. Mishra, a textile worker, was arrested from Laskana area of Surat and handed over to the Bihar Police, for further investigation. The death call to the Bihar CM was given on March 20, in which he had said that he would blow up Nitish Kumar in the next 36 hours.

Following the call, a complaint was lodged at the Sachivalya police station of Patna. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patna, Rajiv Mishra took the matter seriously and formed a special team.

“After the technical and scientific investigation, it was found that the call was made from Gujarat and his location was Surat. With the help of the Gujarat Police, the youth Ankit Mishra, son of Vinay Kumar Mishra was nabbed. He hails from Vaishali district of Bihar. The Surat Police today handed over Ankit to the Bihar Police for further investigation,”a police officer said.

The police officer further said that in the primary investigation, the name of the arrested youth was not found in any criminal case or in any unlawful activities.
