Bahujan Vidyarthi Sangha members took out a protest in Bidar on Monday condemning attack on young writer and BVS leader Huchchangi Prasad in Davanagere recently.

Mr. Prasad was attacked by eight members of a Hindu right wing group. They abused him for writing poetry and books against Hindu culture. This shows that there is no space for dissent in this society. It also shows that Dalits and Adivasis are not safe in the state, they complained.

They took out a rally from Ambedkar circle to the deputy commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister. They demanded action against the attackers and safety to Mr. Prasad.

Pradeep Natikar, Rajkumar Sindhe, Chandrakanth Mulabharati and others led the protest.
