BJP leaders interfering with investigation: police

May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - Dehradun:

Police sources said on Thursday that BJP leaders were trying to interfere in the investigation into the clash between members of the Haridwar truck union and guards of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Food and Herbal Park in Haridwar.

The violence on Wednesday had left one person dead and four injured.

The police collected the CCTV footage as evidence. However, the administration had already deleted some footage before the investigation began, Haridwar senior superintendent of police Sweety Agrawal said.

“Now the administration and other workers of the Patanjali Food and Herbal Park cannot enter the [Food Park] premises until the police gathers the evidence,” Ms Agrawal said. Ramdev’s brother Ram Bharat, who has been charged with instigating the clash, was arrested on Wednesday.
