Birthday brings some cheer to Virbhadra Singh

Himachal CM is under CBI scanner in the disproportionate assets case

June 23, 2015 10:51 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 04:58 pm IST - SHIMLA:

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh celebrated his 82nd birthday on Tuesday along with his family members and supporters. Governor of Himachal Pradesh Kalyan Singh and a majority of Ministers and MLAs from the State greeted him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted good wishes in the morning.

The Chief Minister, who hit the headlines last week after the CBI initiated a preliminary inquiry against him in the alleged disproportionate assets case, looked relaxed. The CBI had claimed that this probe is an offshoot of its ongoing inquiry into the alleged payment of more than Rs. 6 crore made to Mr. Singh by a steel company.
