Bid to create communal tension at Biduli village

Published - July 21, 2015 01:55 am IST - Meerut:

There was an attempt to create communal tension at Biduli village in Shamli district by some unidentified culprits on Sunday by burning religious books in a madrasa. This created anger among the residents of the village which falls in the Rijhana area bordering Haryana.

Some residents on Sunday noticed burnt mattress of the madrasa along with half-burnt religious texts along a tube well.

“Importantly after burning the religious books and the mattress, the culprits had very cleverly kept them near a tube well belonging to a Hindu.

“The attempt obviously was to create Hindu-Muslim clash in the village which had remained unaffected during the 2013 riots of Muzaffarnagar and Shamli,” said a local villager on condition of anonymity.
