Bar Council serves ultimatum on govt. on SAT

October 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 10:07 am IST - CUTTACK:

The Bar Council of Odisha on Thursday extended its deadline allowing more time for the Odisha government to take a decision on recalling its proposal to abolish the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT).

Serving an ultimatum to the government to take a decision by the end of November this year, the Council informed that the lawyers across the State shall continue their protest against the government decision by wearing black badges.

Speaking to newsmen here after an executive meeting of the Council, its chairman Manas Mohapatra said: “Since the State Government claimed to be preoccupied during the past fortnight, no decision on recalling the proposal to abolish the SAT could be taken.”
