The Army has sighted and opened fire at two drones near a military installation in Jammu’s Kaluchak.

“On the midnight of June 27-28, two drone activities were spotted over the Ratnuchak- Kaluchak Military area by alert troops,” defence spokesman Lt. Col. Devender Anand said.

The Army said, “Quick Reaction Teams engaged them with firing. Both the drones flew away. A major threat was averted by the alertness and proactive approach of the troops. The security forces are on high alert and a search operation is on.”

The engagement with the drones, just a day after two blasts took place inside the technical airport of the Indian Air Force triggered a high alert. Two personnel were injured in the detonation of low intensity bombs suspected to be ferried by drones in the airport.
