Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced the name of his party’s chief ministerial candidate in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

“Alok Agrawal has studied at IIT. He could have gone to the U.S. if he wanted to. But after completing his studies, he chose to serve the people of the State. He is AAP chief ministerial candidate in Madhya Pradesh,” said Mr. Kejriwal while addressing a rally in Indore on Sunday.

Mr. Agrawal, a former Narmada Bachao Andolan activist, joined the AAP ahead of the 2014 election. He was fielded as AAP candidate from the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat and received around 16,800 votes. The seat was, however, won by the BJP. The AAP is expected to contest all the 230 seats in M.P.
