Vadra deal will be probed, but not as a priority: Khattar

February 04, 2015 02:14 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:17 pm IST - CHANDIGARH:

Insisting that his government remained committed to exposing various land scams and Value Added Tax evasions in the State, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Tuesday that it would also investigate the dealings of Robert Vadra and his companies.

However, that was not the sole priority of his regime.

Talking to the media on his completing 100 days in office, Mr. Khattar said his government was keen on unravelling the Rs. 10,618-crore tax evasion scam in the Excise and Taxation Department which was unearthed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Haryana Lokayukta.

However, he said, the SIT’s report had not come to the government. It was still with the Lokayukta, which would be acting on it. The names of major companies, including Skylight Hospitality belonging to Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra and real estate giants DLF and Unitech had figured in the investigation.
