Close on the heels of the attack on St. Mary’s Church, a temple was attacked in Agra late on Monday night by unidentified miscreants. Police didn’t deny designs to disturb communal atmosphere in the city.

The temple located on Carvan lane of Syedpara in Lohamandi police station limits was vandalised. Priest of the 50-year-old temple, found silver tiara and other valuable ornaments missing.

Soon after the news broke on Tuesday morning, an angry crowd assembled in the area, which has a mixed population of Hindus and Muslims.

Police forces were deployed to prevent any untoward incident. According to Agra senior superintendent of Police Rajesh D. Modak the situation was under control.
