Raj Thackeray led Maharahstra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now raised the issue of water woes with the civic body.

Mr. Thackeray along with several other partymen on Tuesday met Municipal Commissioner Swadhin Kshatriya to discuss the water crisis being faced by Mumbaikars.

“Mr. Raj Thackeray has asked BMC to ensure that all housing societies make use of Rain Water Harvesting technique, to take strict action against water mafia and into incidents of frequent pipeline bursts,” a civic official said.

Raj Thackeray in a statement said “We have asked BMC to ensure that all housing societies implement Rain Water Harvesting techniques. As the city is facing its worst ever water crisis there is rise in cases of water theft. There is something fishy as frequent incidents of pipeline bursts are reported”.

BMC must look into all these issues as people are facing lot of problems, he added.

Mr. Kshatriya on his part has given assurances to Mr. Thackeray, saying, the civic body will look into the issues put forward by the party.
