Open to the idea of relocating casinos: D’Souza

January 05, 2017 12:53 am | Updated 12:53 am IST - PANAJI:

Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Wednesday admitted that the BJP-led coalition government in Goa had faced difficulties to fulfil its 2012 poll promise of doing away with offshore casinos.

He said that the party was still open to the idea of either relocating the casinos or closing them down. “Attempts are being made to relocate. But we are also in need of the money and revenue. Hence, we have let casinos continue, and when possible, we may shift them or shut them down,” he said.
