Announcing the name of a new party, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), which was earlier formed as a political front, the former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday said Nitish Kumar was his enemy No. 1.

Announcing the name of the new party here, Mr. Manjhi said: “If any party comes to us for an alliance, we’ll be open for it but without Nitish Kumar. He wears a double face as he says something and does something else.”

He described Mr. Kumar as the “biggest threat to social justice and equality in the State.” “Now he has been exposed thoroughly and the people will teach him a lesson in the polls,” Mr. Manjhi said.

Earlier after being replaced as Chief Minister and further expelled from the JD(U), Mr. Manjhi along with a group of rebel JD(U) leaders and MLAs had formed HAM as a political front.

“Why not,” he said when asked if HAM would take support from the Congress or the BJP in the Assembly polls. “We’ll support whoever opposes Nitish Kumar.”
