The wife of BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, whose video on poor ration went viral, told the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that her meeting with him in Jammu was satisfactory.

The Centre also told the court that Mr. Yadav has now been given an independent mobile phone and new number from which he can contact his family freely.

“We have been informed by the petitioner (Yadav’s wife Sharmila) that she has been able to meet her husband and the meeting was satisfactory,” noted a Bench headed by Justice G.S. Sistani.

The court also noted that Mr. Yadav can now speak with his family without the presence of any third person.

“With this, no further order requires to be passed,” said the Bench while disposing of the petition.

The court had on Friday ordered that Sharmila be allowed to meet Mr. Yadav after which the government arranged their meeting at Mr. Yadav’s batallion at Samba in Jammu.

Ms. Sharmila had come to court by way of a habeas corpus petition seeking production of Mr. Yadav as she said the family has not been able to contact him.

She said over the last call, Mr. Yadav had hinted at him being taken to an undisclosed location and that he is always in presence of a third person while making phone calls, that too from some other number.

The Centrr had, however, told the court that the allegations were baseless as Mr. Yadav has merely been moved from his 29th batallion to 80th batallion within Jammu.

It also said his phone has been seized as part of probe as the vital videos were filmed with it.

The court has then ordered that “the wife should meet her husband”.
