M. O. H. Farook sworn in as Governor of Jharkhand

M O H Farook was sworn-in as the Governor of Jharkhand on Friday.

Mr. Farook was administered the oath by the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Gyan Sudha Mishra, at Raj Bhavan here.

He succeeds K. Sankaranyaranan, who has been appointed as Governor of Maharashtra.

Born on September 6, 1937, Mr. Farook had served as the Speaker of Puducherry from 1964 to 1967 and Chief Minister from 1967-68, 1969-1974 and 1985 to 1990.

After the oath taking ceremony, Chief Minister Shibu Soren, Union Food Processing Minister Subodh Kant Sahai, Deputy Chief Ministers Sudesh Mahto and Raghuvar Das and JMM leader Suraj Mandal congratulated the Governor.
