A joint monitoring cell of the officials headed by the Chief Secretary was monitoring the activities of the Kuki tribal militant groups which had signed an agreement with the Centre to suspend operations, Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi informed the State Assembly on Monday. This follows reports that the groups were indulging in activities like abduction of traders for ransomtribals e said this Mr. Ibobi, also in charge of Home State Assembly, was replying to a question by R.K. Anand, MLA. Of late there have been reports of flagrant violations of the ground rules such as the armed tribal militants making their presence felt or kidnapping traders for ransom.
