Curfew continues in Manipur; internet blocked

With the death of 1 more person, the death toll in Churachandpur district during the current violence has increased to 8. Curfew is still on with heavily armed state and central forces personnel patrolling the streets.

The cabinet reviewed the law and order situation on Tuesday night. A meeting of the unified command was held in the office of Chief Minister, O.Ibobi Singh.

Meanwhile legalized border trade is still paralyzed as the kuki students have imposed an indefinite blockade.

Internet was blocked in many parts of Manipur from Tuesday 9:00 pm, to check rampant misuse of social media, to cause communal flare up on burning issues.

Blocking to be continued indefinitely.
