A Maoist who was injured during a fierce encounter between armed ultras and police, was arrested at Charpokhari village in Bihar’s Jamui district on Friday.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Rathi said the police had reached the village on the basis of a tip-off that some Maoists had assembled in the area.
On seeing the policemen, the Maoists started firing at them leading to the encounter.
While a Maoist who sustained injuries during the exchange of fire was arrested, other ultras managed to flee the area after the encounter.
Raids were on in the area to apprehend them, the SP added.
