The Chhattisgarh government has decided to give free PET and PMT coaching to meritorious students belonging to scheduled castes and tribes in the state, official sources said on Tuesday.

The coaching would be given to these SC/ST students in a national level institute and about 100 students will be selected for the current session, they said.

The selected wards will comprise 17 boys and 8 girls (SC) apart from 52 boys and 23 girls from the ST category, official sources said.

All the students who have scored more than 80 per cent marks in Chhattisgarh Secondary Board exams are eligible to avail this benefit, they said.

All the expenses including that of entry, tuition, institutional, lodging, mess, stationary, transportation and medical fees of the enrolled students would be sponsored by the SC/ST department, they added.
