Five persons were killed and 42 others injured when a tourist bus fell into a 100-feet deep gorge in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The tourist bus carrying 47 people was on way to Delhi from Manali when the accident occurred around 4 am in the morning near Garha More, about 65 km from the district headquarters, Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Sharma told PTI.

The mishap apparently took place due to break failure.

The victims hailed from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana, Station House Officer of Swarghat police station Rattan Chand said from the accident site.
