Eight killed as bus hits tree

Eight persons were killed and 25 others injured when their bus rammed into a roadside tree near Ghatour village in Bihar’s Banka district today.

The accident occurred at around 7 am when the driver of the vehicle on its way to Deoghar in Jharkhand from Bhagalpur in Bihar lost control over it, police sources said.

The bus rammed into the tree and overturned, they said adding while five passengers died on the spot and three succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

Of the injured admitted to hospitals, condition of five of them was stated to be serious.
