Dengue death toll rises to 8 in MP

With the death of a dengue patient in a local hospital here, the toll due to the disease has risen to eight in Madhya Pradesh since its outbreak late last month in various parts of the State, official sources said on Friday.

Ballu Choudhary, a resident of Bareli in Raisen district who had been undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the past few days, succumbed to his illness on Thursday.

Ballu had been suffering from dengue for last 15 days and before shifting to Bhopal, he had also undergone treatment in Bareli and Raisen hospitals, they said.

With this, the death toll due to dengue has risen to eight in the State, they said.

Maximum deaths were reported from Balaghat where three persons died of the disease, followed by Bhopal (two) and one each in Indore, Rajgarh and Raisen, the sources said.
