Delhi police housing complex likely to have schools

The mega residential housing complex of Delhi police coming up on a 60-acre plot in the outskirts of the capital is likely to have a primary and a senior secondary school in its premises.

The proposed complex, to be built at a cost of about Rs 750, crore on government land in Dheerpur, will have a total of 5,202 flats of various categories to cater to different ranks of personnel.

“We are planning to have a primary school and a senior secondary school in the plot which will be of great help for those allotted flats,” a senior police official said.

Besides the schools, there are plans to have a shopping complex, dispensary, community centre, recreation and health facilities.

“We intend to provide a modern residential colony which is integrated with the surrounding areas by creating a functional urban infrastructure,” the official said.

Out of the 5,202 proposed flats in the Dheerpur project, 4,256 are Type-II flats, 700 Type-III flats and 246 in Type-IV category.

The project will be executed through a public-private partnership venture on ‘Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer’ (DBFOT) basis.
