A moderate intensity earthquake shook the Kashmir Valley on Monday morning. There were no immediate reports of casualty or damage.
“The earthquake, which measured 5.6 on the Richter’s scale, occurred in Northwest Kashmir at 11.36 a.m.,” an official of the disaster management cell said.
The official said the epicentre of the quake was in Gilgit area, which is under Pakistani control.
