35,000 villages in Rajasthan to get electricity this fiscal

Rajasthan power corporation on Thursday said nearly 35,000 villages in the state would be provided with electricity network with a budget of Rs 1,300 crore by the end of this financial year.

The electrification would be done in two phases and the process of the wiring and erection of poles has already been started, R G Gupta, the chairman of three power companies, said in a statement here.

Electricity supply of 2,028 villages has already been started and the work in remaining villages was underway, he said.
