2 new judges sworn-in in Odisha high court

Justice Debabrata Das and Justice Satrughna Pujahari were sworn in as permanent judge and additional judge of High Court respectively here on Friday.

Chief Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel administered the oath of office to the two newly appointed judges inside the premises of the High Court in presence of other judges of the High Court, former judges, members of the bar and advocate general Ashok Kumar Mohanty.

State Revenue Minister Surya Narayan Patro, along with several officers of the State Government, was also present at the swearing-in ceremony of the two new judges.

With the elevation of Justices Das and Pujahari to the HC Bench, the number of judges in Odisha mounted to 17, along with the Chief Justice. Still five more posts of judges are lying vacant in the State. Prior to his present appointment, Justice Das was the District and Sessions judge of Ganjam district. Similarly, Justice Pujahari was working as principal Secretary of State Law Department.
