106 per cent jump in profit for NALCO

: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) on Monday reported a net profit of Rs.1,322 crore during the year, a jump by 106 per cent compared to Rs. 642 crore achieved during the previous fiscal.

Releasing financial results of 2014-15 fiscal here, NALCO said, “The export turnover of the company for the fiscal was Rs.3,307 crore. During the year, the company has also achieved the highest ever gross turnover of Rs. 7,771 crore against Rs. 7,024 crore achieved last year and previous best of Rs. 7,247 crore achieved in 2012-13.”

A meeting of Board of Directors, which was held in New Delhi, recommended a final dividend at the rate of 10 per cent (Rs.0.50 per equity share of Rs. 5 each) amounting to Rs.128.86 crore. Earlier, NALCO had declared an interim dividend of 25 per cent which was Rs.1.25 per share of Rs.5 each, amounting to Rs. 322.16 crore for the financial year 2014-15, on the paid-up equity share capital of Rs.1,288.62 crore.

According to the company, in terms of production, the aluminium smelter achieved cast metal production of 3.27 lakh MT against 3.16 lakh MT achieved last year and achieved alumina hydrate production of 18.51 lakh MT against 19.25 lakh MT last year.

The Captive Power Plant of the company recorded net power generation of 5,131 million unit against 4,989 million unit achieved in last fiscal.
