The RSS has been under attack from the opposition over its chief Mohan Bhagwat’s reported demand for review of reservation policy.

The RSS has been under attack from the opposition over its chief Mohan Bhagwat’s reported demand for review of reservation policy.

The RSS on Monday said it firmly supports the existing reservation policy enshrined in the Constitution and the remarks of its chief Mohan Bhagwat was distorted by the critics to create confusion about the organisation’s view on the issue.

“The RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s views on reservation policy has been presented (by critics) after distorting it...an attempt has been made to create confusion about the RSS’s stand on reservation policy.

“The RSS condemns such efforts to distort Mr. >Bhagwat’s views to mislead the people and create confusion about its stand on reservation,” Dr Mohan Singh, regional head, north-east, said in a statement.

“The RSS firmly supports the reservation policy enshrined in the Constitution,” Mr. Singh said.

The RSS was also of the view that the OBCs, EBCs and SC/STs must continue to benefit from the reservation policy in order to enable the objectives of the founding fathers of the Constitution to succeed, he added.
