Not in talks with Cong. for M.P. polls, says BSP

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday denied holding talks with the Congress for an alliance for the coming Madhya Pradesh Assembly election, and said the party would in all likelihood contest all 230 seats on its own.

BSP State president Narmada Prasad Ahirwar said, “I was told by the media that Congress leaders had been saying that discussions were under way with the BSP for an alliance for the Assembly elections. I clarified that we are not in talks at the State or at the national level.”

The Congress too denied having said talks were on. “The Congress only said that we would try to have an alliance with political parties with a similar ideology. We never mentioned the BSP’s name,” said Manak Agarwal, media department chief of the Congress State unit.
