Nominations begin for Delhi elections

Filing of nominations for Delhi Assembly elections and by-elections to the Surat West and Yercaud constituencies began on Saturday.

Delhi’s Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung and Gujarat and Tamil Nadu Governors Kamla Beniwal and K. Rosaiah issued the notification.

The last date for filing of nominations is November 16. Counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.

Meanwhile, campaigning has ended for Monday’s elections in 18 Naxal-affected constituencies in Chhattisgarh. The second phase of polling will be held in 72 segments on November 19.
