The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) informed the Lok Sabha that no specific connection had surfaced between the Islamic State in Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK) and the groups operating in Iraq and Syria.

Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that “seven local youths have joined ISJK through self-proclamation.”

“Of these, four terrorists were neutralised on June 22, 2018 at Khiram Srigufawara, Anantnag. Two were arrested and one is presently active in the Valley,” Mr. Ahir said.
