“Sehgal’s condition is very critical. There has been no significant improvement,” Ms. Sehgal’s daughter Subhashini Ali told reporters in Kanpur.

“She is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is under observation by a team of doctors,” Ali said.

Ms. Sehgal (97), who had been ill for some time, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning after she had suffered a heart attack at her residence in Civil Lines area.
