N.D. Tiwari’s son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari passes away

Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, N.D. Tiwari, died at a hospital in Saket here on Tuesday.

According to Joint Commissioner, Delhi Police, Devesh Shrivastava, Rohit was reportedly admitted to the hospital after he suffered a nose bleed. He was immediately rushed to the Max Hospital in an ambulance, but was declared brought dead.

"Max Hospital received an emergency call from the residence of Mr. Rohit Shekhar Tiwari at 04:41 pm this afternoon. An ambulance brought Mr. Tiwari to Max Hospital, Saket, where he was declared ‘’brought dead’’. As per established procedure, we have informed the authorities," said a statement issued by the hospital.

DCP South Delhi Vijay Kumar too issued  a statement to confirm the death.

Rohit's mother was not at home at the time. She was at a hospital undergoing checkup.

Police has seized Rohit's Defence Colony residence. Investigators are searching the house to look for reasons behind the death.

Rohit had filed the paternity suit in 2007 , seven years later, N.D. Tiwari accepted him as his son after a court order and a DNA test revealed that he is Rohit's biological father.

N.D. Tiwari passed away in 2018.
