A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit West Bengal’s Bardhaman district two women were injured on Saturday in an explosion inside a house.
Officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) who have conducted a detailed investigation in the Khragragarh blast called up the senior police officials and sought details about the explosion.
The explosion was reported inside an abandoned house in Begunkhola village in the district and it comes days after a blast at illegal cracker factory in Pingla of West Midnapore district killed 12 people on Wednesday.
“Two women who were passing by the house have been injured in the blast. The owner of the house is already behind bars in connection with another case,” Superintendent of Police, Bardhaman Kunal Agarwal said. He admitted that the NIA had sough information about the explosion.
The NIA had investigated the blast at Khragragarh in Bardhman district in October 2013. In the charge sheet filed by NIA, the agency had said that Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (Bangladesh) had built a wide network across the State with an aim to target the democratically elected government in Bangladesh.
