Notices have been given by various members for discussion in the Lok Sabha on various versions of Lokpal Bill, but it is not clear when the debate will be taken up.

Announcing this in the House, Speaker Meira Kumar promised “very early” decision on the number of notices received from members under various rules, including Rule 184, which entails voting.

She said she has received notices from Bhola Singh (BJP) and Shailendra Kumar (SP) for discussion under rule 184 on Lokpal Bill and related matters.

Notices have also been given by Congress members Jagdambika Pal and Sandeep Dikshit for short duration discussion on “document of Jan Lokpal Bill drafted by civil society under leadership of Anna Hazare and proposals by others” to fight corruption.

“These are under my consideration, I will give decision very early,” she said.

There was, however, uncertainty when the discussion will be taken up, as the government is seeking written assurances from Team Anna that after the debate Anna Hazare will end fast.
