More relief material being airlifted to Kashmir

Communication equipments of the Department of Telecommunication, Army, BSNL and private telecom companies have been dispatched to flood-ravaged Kashmir restore communication links.

To meet the immediate energy requirement, 22,000 litres of fuel from Ambala has been transported to the Valley, the armed forces said in a statement. Blankets and tents, water bottles and food packets, are being airlifted from Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna, Amritsar and Chandigarh. Eighty-nine transport aircraft and helicopters of the IAF and Army have been pressed into service in the rescue operations.
