Modi pays tributes to Savarkar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tributes to freedom fighter and right-wing leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

He went to Parliament to pay floral tributes at Savarkar’s portrait. Mr. Modi described Savarkar as a prolific writer, poet and social reformer.

“Tributes to Veer Savarkar on his birth anniversary. We remember and salute his tireless efforts towards the regeneration of our motherland.

“Veer Savarkar is remembered as a prolific writer, thinker, poet and a social reformer,” he tweeted.
