Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condemned the attack on Afghan Parliament, terming it as a “despicable and cowardly act” and asserted that India stands shoulder to shoulder with people of that country in this hour.

“The attack on the Afghanistan Parliament is a despicable & cowardly act. There is no place for such attacks in a democracy,” Mr. Modi tweeted.

“My prayers are with those injured. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Afghanistan in this hour,” he said.
