Dominica HC adjourns hearing on Choksi's bail plea till June 11

The bail hearing took place via video conferencing on Choksi's request.

The Dominica High Court has adjourned the hearing on Mehul Choksi 's bail application till June 11, as reported in the local media.

The fugitive businessman's bail application was earlier rejected by the magistrate concerned, following which he approached the High Court there.

In the High Court, the bail hearing took place via video conferencing on Mr. Choksi's request.

The prosecution objected to his release on bail, submitting that he was a flight risk.

The court adjourned the proceedings till June 11.

The court has also been hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Mr. Choksi's legal team. He has alleged that he was abducted in Antigua on May 23 and brought to Dominica, where he was detained.
