The Maoists destroyed a school building blasting it in Garhwa district just before their two-day Bharat bandh ended at midnight, the police said on Tuesday.

A group of armed Maoists stuffed IED inside a room of a middle school at Bodari village and triggered the blast, damaging a large portion of the structure, Superintendent of Police Michael S Raj told reporters here.

After three days of violence in Jharkhand, the Maoists ended their bandh which was called to protest the killing of Maoist leader Kishenji on November 24 in West Bengal.
