After coming across as soft in their stance against a man who announced a bounty on JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar’s head, the Delhi Police finally arrested the accused on Monday.

Adarsh Sharma, who claims to be the president of Poorvanchal Sena, has been booked under several Indian Penal Code sections, including one which is non-bailable.

On Saturday, Sharma had put up posters on the walls of some New Delhi establishments, > announcing a reward of Rs. 11 lakh for anyone who would shoot dead Kanhaiya Kumar.

But what drew much ridicule was the subsequent police action in which Sharma was > booked only for defacement of property .

But through Sunday and Monday, police added five more sections in the FIR against him, also booking him for suspected forgery. “The SIM card used by him is suspected to have been procured on fake identity proofs,” said a senior police officer.

On Saturday, > Sharma has proudly posed in front of media for photographs with the poster in his hands. Speaking to The Hindu , he had said he has only Rs. 550 and Rs. 1,200 in his two bank accounts and had claimed that he would give the Rs. 11 lakh reward by collecting funds from the people of India.
