Man shot dead, four women raped on Bulandshahr highway

In a gruesome incident, a man was shot dead and four women, including a 50-year-old, of a family were raped by six criminals on the Jewar-Bulandshahr highway on the intervening night of May 24 and 25. The family was also robbed.

The women were taken to the Noida’ district hospital.

Senior police officers, including SSP Love Kumar, and administration officials reached the scene. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

Jewar MLA Dhirender Singh, who visited the hospital, said the family left Jewar in Greater Noida for Bulandshahr around 12.30 a.m. Wednesday.

 

The family of eight was going to meet an ailing relative. Two hundred meters away from Sabota village in Jewar area, the criminals, 200 punctured their car at 1.30 am.

Mr. Kumar said, “We are lodging an FIR into the matter. A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits. The women have been sent for medical examination and the body of the person who died in the incident has been sent for post mortem examination,” he said.

It may be recalled that in the early hours of July 31, 2016, a mother and daughter — 35, and 14 — travelling from Noida to Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh were dragged out of their car and raped allegedly by group of seven to eight men.
