Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were defused in Awantipora’s Panzgam and Saimoh Tral in Pulwama district of Kashmir on Monday.

Officials said the police and security forces spotted the second IED in an orchard. A bomb disposal squad reached the spot.

There were inputs that militants were planning to carry out IED attacks on security forces, “which shall be spectacular”, police said.

“Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the two IEDs have been recovered. Major incidents have been averted by the police and security forces,” a police spokesman said.
